Lump in groin area

Question
I was holding my pet rat, Remy & I notice a lump in his groin area near
his right leg & now I am extremely worried. He hasn't been acting
lethargic or weird by any means. He eats normally & everything. I did just
take him to the vet recently for his respiratory problems & they gave me
Baytril & Doxyciline  for it & his breathing is a lot better. I'm wondering if
maybe it's just some drainage in the lymph nodes from his infection. I
don't know but I'm scared. He's still so young it seems :( I don't wanna
lose him anytime soon..

Answer
It may be an abscess. Is there a scab on it?  I would give it a few days to see if it doesn't form a head. However, don't worry if it IS some type of tumor. They can be easily removed and are almost always benign.
I say that they can be removed easily but of course this depends on the skill of the Vet etc....  but in most cases, a mammary tumor (which is most likely what it would be if it turned out to be a tumor rather than an abscess)and recovery from surgery is usually without incident.
