Possible Molar abscess??

Question
I have a female dumbo rat, she is two and a half and is very lively, recently I noticed a lump on her cheek, it was hard and not movable, however it seemed to go down, then a week later it came back, I kept an eye on her that night but today it has got a lot worse and her eye is under a lot of pressure, I took her to the vet who said it was either a molar abscess or a cancerous tumour,I have noticed today that she has trouble eating solid foods, so I fed her some boiled egg, she ate it well. The vet also mentioned that she had lost almost a quarter of her body weight, she has been given Baytril. Is there anything I can do for her ?? And does it sound like an abscess??? . The vet has told me that if the antibiotics do not work she will have to be euthanised.I am very worried about her and would like another opinion. Thankyou.

Answer
Is it opened up?  Please refer to my website, sandyscrittercity.com and refer to the page on zymbals gland tumor. Let me know if this looks like what your rat has. Many vets misdiagnose this way too often due to inexperience, but zymbals gland tumors are super common on rats. They start on their face, under the ear, and often the vet mistakes this for a molar abscess that has opened up on the rats face.

Please let me know after  you read this and compare it to your rat.

Also, offer her baby food to lick so she doesnt have to chew.
