Home trimming and sore care

Question
I recently noticed my rat had a tooth which has grown out crooked out the side of her mouth. I hadn't notice as she is as active and normal in her habits and gave no signs of sickness or malaise. I tried taking her to a vet but in my area no one will deal with rats. I need to trim her teeth, but I also worry about her sore from the tooth growth. Is there something I can give her or an ointment I can use to help her on healing?

Answer
I wish I could help but she will need this done by a Vet. She should be put on antibiotics orally and have the vet trim it. One mistake and you can clip her tongue.  Here is a link to the AEMV. There is a list for Canada and Ontario.  Hopefully you can find someone on that list that is near to you.
