how to introduce my rats

i just got a pet rat a week ago and she looks like she might be sad so im gonna get an other rat this weekend form the same place and cage where i got her from...will it be ok to put my new rat in the same cage with her right away or not?

Hi

You should never put new rats together without first allowing them to get used to each other.  After proper quarantine is up, its a good idea to have the new rat sitting next to the existing rat in different cages and let them get used to each other that way.  Since you are getting her from the same place and the same litter (hopefully) it should be very easy to get them used to each other again in no time.  For info on pet rat care please see my site, sandyscrittercity.com
