Sick rat, possibly a tumor

Question
I have had my rats for almost 2 years.  One of my rats recently developed what looked like a tumor above one of her back legs.  She seemed okay for the last week, so I did not think I had to rush to find a vet because I was told that it was probably malignant.  However, yesterday I noticed that she hasn't been eating because the food is on the second level, and I found her hiding in the corner of the cage very weak, skinny, and falling over. I transferred her into a cage separate from the other rats because they were bullying her.  She seems too weak to eat, and does not like trying to drink from the water bottle or a water dish.  I don't know what to do.  I am going to take her to a vet, but what should I do in the meantime to try to get her to eat, drink, and be more comfortable?  Any advice would be helpful, I am very worried.

Answer
Malignant means cancerous. You wouldn't have to worry if it was benign, but it doesn't sound like it. You've taken the first step in taking her to the vet, but until then try and feed her applesauce which is easy to eat and gives her some fluids. Keep her in a comfy, warm spot and just get her to the vet as soon as you can.
