Question
Hi Ashley, I have noticed my rats teeth have grown very long and he stopped eating because of it the only things he does eat is treats, I have tried giving him a chew stick but he didn't chew on it should i be worried? or will he grind them down him self? thanks.

Answer
Hi, sorry for the late reply but my internet has been down. Rats usually keep their teeth down on their own, but they can become overgrown if they aren't fed enough hard foods. If it gets to the point where he can't eat anymore, he probably won't be able to grind them down himself, so its time to take him to the vet and get them trimmed. Until then, feed him apple sauce and things that he doesn't have to chew.
