Wasp or bee stings

Question
QUESTION: Hi. Now the weather's warm we've had the odd wasp and bee in the house. I've immediately panicked having them in the same room as my rats and got them out of the window asap. When i think of it logically, people (and dogs too?) only get into trouble when they're allergic to stings. Is this the case with rats? Is there anything I can have in the house in case they get stung?

ANSWER: Keep benadryl handy.

QUESTION: Thanks. I think benadryl is an anti-histamine? Do you mean tablet form or is there a cream? I'm not sure if it's different here (UK) but the name does ring a bell from people who have hayfever. Would you just buy it from a chemists or is there an animal formula?
I've been looking at you site again, I have it bookmarked, but can't find anything on bites or stings under the healthcare page. Am I looking at the wrong bit?
Thanks.

Answer
Honestly, I never addressed the issue about bee stings because they are not really that common. Something for me to consider putting up though, maybe make an area for first aid?

Anyhow, yes benadryl helps counter act allergic reactions and can be life saving in certain instances.  It comes in liquid form, childrens liquid would be the best and here in the US we buy it at our local pharmacy/drug store, is that what you call a "chemist" in the UK?
