Ive just read an artical on how to stop your rat biting you use  vanilla essance put some on your rat and some on your wrist this will make the 2 of you smell the same hence you will be less of a threat to her. I would love to hear your opinion on this.

That's false. It doesn't matter how you smell; even if you bathe in the same scent, your rat will know that you aren't the same as them - you still have other smells associated with you and your look is distinctly different. We are considerably larger and considerably more frightening to a rat in an unstable state of mind. The best way to stop your rat from biting you is to approach them with kindness and treats, and build their trust.
