Hi

I'm thinking about getting a Lovebird or Conure? wat do u perfer to have? i'm looking for a bird that is not that load like a cockatiel, a bird that is not shy and sacred, a bird that would be very mellow when i have the bird on my finger or arm like a perch? all so a bird that don't bit as often!.

Hi, Peter.  Thanks for posting!

I prefer conures, but conures are usually loud.  Cockatiels are not loud birds.  If you don't want a bird louder than a tiel, you need to stick with something like a parakeet.

All the characteristics you desire in a parrot is something that is not species specific.  In other words, each bird is as individual as humans are, therefore, no one can tell you that if you buy a XXX species of parrot, that it will fit the traits you desire.  This is a chance we all take when dealing with parrots.  You get what you get when you buy, so you need to ensure when you buy that you are buying what you think you want.  What this means is that you should buy a just weaned, handfed baby from a reputable parrot breeder, and then raise that bird the way you want it to be raised.  This also means you have to educate yourself on aves so you know what to look for when you buy.  There are hundreds of species of parrots, so research all these different varieties for the type bird you want.
