can my bird catch my illness

Hi, first I would to thank you for answering my questions, Peaches and Murphy are cuddling with each other and preening. Thanks, now I have an URI, basically a common cold can my birds catch it.....I have three lovebirds and  2 cockatiels. Thanks for the help.

You're very welcome...I'm glad if I can help.

No, birds cannot catch colds.  I still wouldn't sneeze or cough directly on your birds though, and make sure you wash your hands before handling them.  Of course, the handwashing applies all the time!
