Question
I have recently purchanced a keet and would like to hand raise another. I have raised keets in the past for a number of years but have never had to find this out. I've have already spoke to the breeder, however, I dont konw at what age it's ok to take a keet from "mommy" or for that matter what it would require for food. I would greately apreciate any help you could offer in this direcion and if you know of any good sites that tell more about this subject that would be awsome as well. ty, dom

Answer
Hi, Dom.  Thanks for posting.

I'm sorry...I need additional information from you before I can respond.

When you refer to hand raising keets, are you talking about handfeeding them with a handfeeding syringe and baby parrot handfeeding formula (pulled from parents at 7-10 days of age) or are you referring to raising keets AFTER they have fledged and been weaned (about 6-8 weeks of age)?

Thanks.
