Lovebird Death

Question
I guess this a question of reinforcement.  On Saturday, my female lovebird Chery died from suddenly and without warning of being egg bound (took her to the vet for a necropsy).  The vet said that the male, Emil, would not be lonely but didn't give me any other specific advice for care of him.  I was wondering if I needed to do anything else to help him cope.  He does not want to come out of the cage anymore and seems very morose...is he depressed...does he need a buddy...can he survive with just me?  I need help cause I hate seeing him by himself.  Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Answer
hello,
I am sorry that one of your birds died. Emil can survive without his mate but he wont be happy and may stay like he is now. But you maybe able to make him happy again with a new mate he may not take to her right away but will in time. I hope this helped you if you have anymore ?S just ask. Also if you can give me a rating.
