hi dianna thanks for advice on mums orange wing shes booked up with vet now  just another question we have an orange wing as well hes about 2 and a half years old hes very tame and very happy but im wondering why his feathers are going grey hes been regular to a avian vet to have his regular nails clipped and checked over the avian said hes a lovely bird very tame and well fed n happy she suggested maybe a vitamin supplement to bring the colour back in his feathers and we have tried this but he still has grey on him then we were told to maybe try a food which has like a colorant thing to bring out the colour in his feathers but this didnt work is this a common thing hes got a thing for women he wolf whistles and flashes his eyes orange everytime a woman enters the room hes quite a comic hope you can advise on the greyness on feathers thks neville

Your Amazon sounds like a great bird!!!  
As for the grey in his feathers, I really don't know.  It's possible that he's getting ready to molt and the new feathers will come in the normal color.  I have never seen this before, but by all means, do NOT give him anything with artificial coloring as this could poison him.
Do, howver, keep up with the vitamin supplements once a month and be sure that he gets fresh fruits and vegetables every day.
