Question
Hello, Do chinchillas make good pets? how big do they get lenth-wise? Can they be housed with other chinchillas? Are they proen to biting? are they easily tamed? will a pair or group become tame?

Answer
Hello,
1. It depends on what you want in a pet. Mine are very bouncy and active and love sleeping in shirts during the day. I think they are the best pet in the world.
2. They get to be roughly 12 inches long, not counting the tail.
3. Chins can be housed together (it's best that way really) two males or two females is best, don't trust pet stores about the gender, go to a breeder to buy.
4. Some chins bite, but mine never do. Again, go through a reputable breeder and you should do well.
5. All my chins (with the exception of one of my rescues) have been very sweet-tempered and tamed very easily. The rescue had a rough time at it but she's a real snuggler now.
6. I keep mine in groups and they are all tame so I can say from personal experience that they are tameable in groups.
