I Want Fat Mice!

Hi Natasha!
I have three male white mice, and they're about 4 months old and of course, living in separate cages. I've heard that fat mice are not necessarily unhealthy or depressed... is this really true? I think fat mice and rats are adorable and would like to fatten mine up! If it's alright to let them get fat, is there a safe and healthy way of doing this?

If a mouse is naturally fat, that's OK.  I love fat mice too.  But to fatten up a mouse to make it cute would go against its body type and make it as unhealthy as an obese person, with risk of heart disease and diabetes. Give them a healthy diet and enjoy them the way nature made them!
