Question
Ultra has pulled through, thank God (or the Mouse Goddess).  She is
embarking on her 4th life.  What an amazing mouse.  I have never seen such
strength in a mouse before. (There is a small something which might be a
tumor on her side, which would mean hoping for a fifth life after an
operation, and I really don't want to push it.  I am watching very closely.
Luckily it is easy to watch closely because she is 99 bald.)

The primrose oil was primrose oil but it has to be extremely diluted with
water before any kind of use.  Maybe that's the difference between primrose
oil and oil of primrose.  Dammit.

The question still remains as to why she has lost almost all of her fur.  She
may still be losing.  The last two nights I have covered her with simple extra
virgin cold-pressed olive oil in order to soothe the flaking skin.  I tried it on
myself first.  Just in case.  She seemed to enjoy it and the attention that she
received in the cage upon her return.

Ultra is feeling well enough today to explore the awful mess that Clara has
made from my miniature Christmas tree on the table. I certainly think it is the
very best use for a Christmas tree!  The table is covered with dirt and I am
thankful my roommate moved out, who might have objected to the mousely
mess!

This will be your last update unless something continues to go wrong or you
have a sudden insight as to the loss of the fur.  I wouldn't think mange would
make her completely bald nor survive straight primrose oil.

I hope you had a delightful Christmas and  terrific New Year's Eve.

peace, love, truth

Answer
I am so pleased she has pulled through, and I can see how she has with such a caring mum. Thank you for letting me know she is well, I am sorry I am unable to solve the mystery of her losing fur, if I come across anything I will let you know.

If you find out the reason I would greatly appreciate you letting me know so I can pass it on to any others with the same problem.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (it sounds like your mice did!).

All the best for the new year.
