Question
Hello, Ive owned my Green iguana now for a little over a year. I have a cage built for him with a basking spot at the top with timber and vines to lay on. Usually he lays on the top about 85% of his time.. the other 15% hes running around the cage.. lately ive noticed that he has been laying on the bottom of the cage. I had to clean his cage and the assortment is a little different.. when i open his cage he walks around my room all curious toungue flicking everything but as soon as i leave him alone in his cage he goes down to the bottom and jus lays.. im worried he may be ill. Its not normal. please help

Thank you:D tyler.

Answer
Tyler,

Let me ask you this: has there been any changes to his diet or energy levels? He is still young (or was he older when you got him?). How often do you let him come out and roam?

What do you feed him? How often? What type of light do you have at the top?

Please give me as much information as you can about him and his lifestyle so I can gather my thoughts better. Also, has anything drastic changed in his life lately? Have you moved the cage? Is there a heating element at the bottom, like a rock or heat pad?

Thank You,
