blisters
we rescued this iguana(franky)about 6mo ago . he wasnt ill or anything but his living conditions were horrible. anyway he has doubled in size and has come a very long way from how defensive he was at first. he would plex up and whip his tail when anyone would approach ..now only occasionally. franky is on my shoulders as we speak.a couple of weeks ago h had a swollen knuckle on his left hand . we brought him to the vet which was a waste of time . the vet said we could amputate that finger .. which i did not think was  acceptable. i suggested antibiotics and he agreed.. 80$.  the knuckle is still swollen  but he is not favoring it like he was nor is it shaking when he uses it . ok thats just some backround.. today we noticed several blisters on his left abdomen they look exctely like our skin does when we get a burn abd it blisters; one is about the size of a pea. the rest ( about 5) are spread out in an area the size of a dollar , i was thinkihng chemical burns,or a heat rock burn. but weve checked those sources to no avail ,please view pic and give me your advice. thank you

Answer
Hi Michael,
There has been a lot of a virus hitting reptiles lately.  It is called CANV
It can be treated but may not always work. No, I am not saying CANV is what the blisters are but it is something that the ig does need to be checked for as that the blisters can be a sign of it.
As to the knuckle, if it doesn't bother him then I would not worry about it. With his past, his bones are most likely  a bit soft and he may have broken or dislocated it.  It may also be were some metabolic bone disease is showing.  It may or may not resolve with good care, but again, if it doesn't bother him, no reason to do anything about it.  Right now, the blisters are a big concern and do need to be addressed.
