i need to give my iguana away

i biult a cage for my iguana and the only place i can fit it in is in the basement. my dad is going to do something with it and we will have no more room for her..

If you need to give your iguana away, try advertising your iguana in local classified ads and via craigslist or other websites like petfinder.com.

Your other options would be finding someone you know who could take the iguana. Or, you could give the iguana to a pet store and they will re-sell it.

There are a few iguana and reptile rescue/shelters scattered across the nation. Chances are if you live by a big city, you can find a reptile rescue or a herpetological society. Usually, they can either take the iguana or find someone for you who will.

It is NOT a good idea to release the iguana outdoors because it will not survive during winter unless you live in Miami. It is also NOT a good idea to give the iguana to a humane society or shelter that is mainly dogs and cats because they will not have the knowledge or the supplies to properly care for the iguana.

You may want to contact local zoos to see if they would take an iguana.
