QuestionHi, I am considering owning a hedgehog. I would like to know about the daily/weekly care and the best place to get one (breeder, pet store, etc.) I am mainly interested in the basics, and how much the hedgie and all the necessary supplies will cost. Thanks!

I suggest a paper type bedding, not wood. The cage should be as large as you have room. Some people use plastic childrens wading pools. If the space is too small, the hedgie may try to harm him/herself.
The cage should be mini-cleaned daily, removing droppings and soiled bedding. Once a week, the entire cage should be dumped and cleaned. Hedgies tend to go in their wheel, and you will want to keep that clean to keep their feet clean.
Daily handling helps with the bonding process.
