My guinea pig has not used the bathroom all day today. Is he ill?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have had increasingly problematic issues with my internet as well as having a very busy home life (newborn twins), so I have had delays in responding to all questions in the past two weeks. Apologies if any inconvenience was caused.

It isn't right for a guinea pig not to pee or poop for more than a few hours. It may suggest an infection, perhaps a Urinary Tract infection, which can affect both the urinating and the "back passage" motions. It might also be a blockage such as a bladder stone or, as you mentioned, constipation. I recommend you contact your vet ASAP to get a thorough examination done, as any blockages can be very harmful if left untreated.
