Guinea pigs come into estrus (heat) approximately every two or three weeks. They are not regular and are therefore very difficult to predict. If you are wanting to breed your pig you need to put the boar in the cage with the sow and leave them there until they are obviously very pregnant.

If you don't want your pig pregnant then do not leave her with a male on the hope that you can predict when she's in heat and remove her before she gets pregnant.
