Question
yes i am sad to say that the little one did not make it
due to my being ill at the time of the birth i did not check
on her until maybe an hour after the birth... i believe it may have been too cold for the little one... everything else looked to be fine due to size and weight...thanks for the earlier advice

and i would like to ask that if i gave Daizee at least a month to recover could i try again and should i?

Also would it be okay if i purchase another sow for roger should i want to try again sooner?

and yes i will keep all offspring...i have the space and the food and i just love those piggies lol

I am hurt by what happed but I would like to try again
thanks for your advice again and look forward to your helpfull answers once again

Answer
I'm sorry your baby didn't make it. That's the hardest part of raising cavies, the mortality rate is higher than with other animals.

It would be fine to give Daizee a month's rest then breed her again. And Roger would be delighted I'm sure to have another girl in his harem. You can put all three of them together, both sows and Roger.

Hopefully it will turn out better for the next litter. My husband still has a hard time understanding how come we can't save every baby that is born. Unfortunately it just doesn't work that way.

Good luck to you. I hope you'll let me know how it turns out.
