how can you tell if a hamster is a girl or a boy

Hi Tabitha,

Look at the underside of the hamster.  If it's a boy, there will be a large gap between his urinary and anal openings.  Also, you can see his testicles.  Females have a small gap between their urinary and anal openings.  Here's a link to a website with an illustration:
