Kelly,
Well im pretty sure my hamster is pregnant and i think i should clean the cage but she has a nest put together and i dont know if i should clean it up Should i leave it or clean it? The nest is also in a corner of the lower level of her cage and im unable to see the inside how will i be able to see the babies and if they are okay?

Hi Beth,

Yes, you should go ahead and clean out the cage.  You won't be able to clean the cage for a while after the babies are born; you have to wait until they're at least 14 days old.  And, remove the wheel a couple of days before she is due to give birth.  (It can be dangerous for the babies.)

You can't choose where your hamster makes her nest.  However, you can try putting something in that corner, such as her food bowl, so she'll try making her nest somewhere else on the lower level.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Answer
Hi Beth,

Well, as soon as you've cleaned the cage and put fresh bedding in it, your hamster will begin building her nest.  It won't take her long.  You can help her out by providing her with extra Aspen or Carefresh bedding.  (Avoid Pine and Cedar, which are dangerous to small animals.)

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
