HURT HURT HAMMY

HI i hav a horrible dilemna,and i hope that u can help me.I have a bunch of european black bear hamsters.One got into anothers cage and they had been fighting.I realized that one was hurt becuz it wus limping on one of its back legs.After a closer look i saw a big gash behind one of its ears.I got some hydrogen peroxide to put on it,with a cue tip,and when i looked closer,i realized that there is a 2 centimeter hole behind its ear,rite thru the skin.I AM SUUPER WORRIED PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I can do.i cant take it to the vet or anything because we dont have money.Ive been trying to find a way to give away the 6 young hamsters that i have left,and this is exactly y.PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN HELP MY HURT HAMMY<and how i cud help find them new homes so this wont happen again.=-(

hi matthew,

first of all you NEED to find out wether your hamsters are male or female and separate them immediately. they will all eventually fight with each other. this must be done if you are planning to give them away, as no1 will want to take a sick or injured hamster. so it looks like you may be stuck with the injured one for a while.

in regards to him, if you really cant afford the vets, you should just keep cleaning his wounds and hope they heal, his cage will need to be kept clean all the time to avoid infection, which will cause the skin to die and he will become very smelly, eventually passing away. so go to your pet store and ASK what they have to clean small animal wounds.
