clean cage

hi my hamster gave birth and i did not know if she was pregnant for sure. beacause i did not know the date when she would have the pups the cage needs to clean . i still need to clean the cage. can you tell me what to do soon please.

Hi Lesley,

    The cage should not be cleaned until the pups are 2 weeks old. This is when it is safe to handle the pups for a short period of time and the cage can be cleaned.

    If the pups are 2 weeks old, then yes, you can clean the cage. If you are not sure how old the pups are then wait at least 4 more days before cleaning the cage.
