RE:teddy bear hamster

i have a question my teddy bear hamster......keeps getting crust around his eyes...it goes away for awhile but it keeps coming back and it closes up his eye to where he can't see.....also all he does is sleep he has gotten really big is there anything i can do to help him lose wait???

Teddy bear hamsters will get about 6-7 inches and they usually get quite fat.  Get him a wheel/hamster ball and try scaling back on the treats while still providing lots of wooden chew sticks to keep his teeth filed down.  As far as the eye crust goes, it's it's yellow/green and oozes, he has an infection and needs to see a vet.  If it's just occassional white flakiness, wipe it well with a rag and warm water.
