Question
Hi. Thank you so much for your incredibly fast response. He was holding very
still at first, which was terrifying, but he has started moving a lot. There
doesn't appear to be any open wound, which is actually scary. I'm afraid he
was actually bleeding out of his right ear. When he started becoming more
active, he cleaned himself, drank water, and blew some (apparently) leftover
blood out of his nose several times, in a sneeze-like fashion. His right eye
looks like he doesn't want to fully open it, or can't. He doesn't appear to have
any pain in his legs as he runs around the cage, though he is a little wobbly.
He keeps trying to wipe the right side of his head and upper body against the
litter on the floor.  I'm told he's sleeping now. Should we try to keep him
warm? Any other suggestions?
Thanks-

please answer quick!!! one of my gerbils fell off my sister's loft bed and he's
really bloody. if you can picture a gerbil, his left ear and arm are only bloody.
will he die?
-----Answer-----
it all depends on how bad his injuries are. Do you have anything to cleanse
the wounds with such as neosporin? You need to clean him up and take him
to a vet to get looked at and make sure there's no broken bones. Don't try to
handle him too much. Can he move at all? I can't tell you whether or not he
will die, it all depends on how bad he is.

Answer
keep him cozy and he may be in a little shock as well. Don't be alarmed though. My only recommendation is to just leave him alone for a few days and let him get better on his own. He's had a tramatic experience and so he may not want to be held for a while
