Dwarf hamster losing weight

I have an 18 month old dwarf hamster.  He, recently, has begun to lose weight, despite a good appetite.  He has also become more active, then he was a few months ago.
He is not showing any other signs of illnes.  What could be causing the sudden weight loss?

Hi Kathy,

this sounds quite normal - if he is suddenly being more active then it will be normal for him to lose abit more weight.

If you still do not feel he is acting normal then it might be best for you to take him to the vets for a check up.
