ok i already found out that you recomend purina one urinary tract infection but do you know if the regular purina one formula will work or not. Thanks again rachae

Sorry about the delay, I couldn't log on!
  Do you mean the regular Purina One Cat food?
As long as you use the "Chicken" formula.
Look at the ingredients, and look to see if the main ingredient is "Chicken" or "Poultry".
The reason is that chicken/poultry based cat foods seem to help with the ferret's odor, and the odor of their coat, and their stools. If you use any type cat food that has
"Fish meal" in the ingredients, it will increase the amount of oil in a ferret's skin and stool, there by increasing the odor. Then supplement with Ferretone, a couple drops a week. I like " Special care" because it has a low ash content, and also has a lower amount of corn meal, and other fillers.. A high ash content in foods can lead to urinary tract problems.
    This is only my personal preference. There will be a lot of differing opinions on foods for your ferret, there are as many different opinions as there are ferret owners. and there are people who say that you should only use "commercial ferret foods." But after raising a total of 12 ferrets, I like this feeding method, personally.
