Question
My ferret is about 4 years old, he is and albino. he recently started loosing weight and not being able to walk on his hind legs he just urinated on himself for the first time today what can this mean? my vet appointment is not until Saturday. have a clue what this might mean?

Answer
Elizabeth,
I had an older albino that had the same thing.  She had kidney failure.  It may not be that but that usually cause weakness in the hind legs.  They urinate on themselves as they can't get in the box quick enough.  Try giving your ferret Nutri-cal.  It boosts their appetite and energy level and helps them to feel better.  You can get it at the pet store.  Albinos sometimes have more problems then other animals in any species.  Good luck with your little guy.
