Question
Hi
I have 2 ferrets, about 10 months old, My male's name is Gunner, and he is a great ferret, however he does not like leashes at all, I was wondering if you could send a few tips my way on how to get him and to continue to keep his sister (Abby) on it? Also I've been told that ferrets LOVE duk soup, however I bought some recently and I have to almost force feed them, like they won't go out of their way to eat it, but if you hold them and put it in front of them they will eat if from my finger, was wondering why that was, I also used the furo-tone in it as well, no difference. Abby & Gunner always use their litter box, however they seldom go to it when they are out and about, they do from time to time, but use under a side table beside the couch in the corner, was wondering how to stop that. I also have a bit of a concern for Abby, today I caught her doing the deed under that table again, and they both know not to, and I yelled at her to get out of there, and she did, but when she went to jet under the TV stand she hit one of the legs with her back end really hard and I think she might actually be hurt, was wondering if I should just let her be for a few days to let her get back to her old self or take her to a vet, also I don't know how but she split one of her nails, nothing overly big, but to the bloodline, luckily it's not bleeding. She is a bit prone to hurting herself alot, which is how she chipped her tooth. And just one more thing, they always try to get into the cubborts, or into places they shouldn't and I know they know they shouldn't because I yell their name in a certain tone and they book it away, was wondering how to keep them out of places and things for good?

I know I threw alot at you, and I really appreciate whatever help you can give me. Thank you very much.

Answer
Hello, I can only help with a few things. My own ferrets I jsut simply put on there harrnesses and leash and they were fine with it so my advice is leave the harrnesses on for a few minutes daily while your watching to get them used to wearing them then attach a leash and that should work fairly well. Litter training my ferrets never would use the ltiter box out of there cage so I cant help with that. You can use baby proofing things for the cupboards and drawers to safely keep them out, if you think shes hurt herself take her in for a check and possibly and xray dont wait for the problem to get worse,
