QuestionMy daughter has a ferret that she got from someone else and was told it had the necessary shots etc. I am going to guess the ferret is about 1 year old. he has fleas- my daughter has seen them on him- gave him a bath to try and get rid of some of them. What should I recommend her to do for this problem? Thank you for your help.
AnswerI recommend either Advantage kitten, Revolution for kittens, or Frontline for kittens (be wary of Frontline some ferrets have an adverse reaction)
I personally use Revolutions it not only protects against fleas but Revolution will also kill ticks, ear mites, prevent heartworms, and deworms each month.
You will need to go to a vet for any of these to get a proper dosage based on the ferrets weight. I am not sure about other vets but my vet will sell a single vial so it doesn't cost as much as a whole box. It would be worth a shot asking if the vet will sell a single vial.
