Question
my ferret has had preety abnormal breathing for a couple of hours now, i notice this morning that every 1-2 minnutes he has  an abnormal breat quickly breaths in and then slowly out. I think its because he ate one of my headphones(the soft part that goes into ear) but i'm not sure exactly it might just be some sort of hiccup thing ferrets have. Please tell me if it requires immediate help or not and if theres sommething i can do to compell him to throw it up.

Answer
Hi Alex, please read my intro on my profile......there is no way I can diagnose this from a distance. If your ferret is breathing abnormally as you describe, he MUST SEE A VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY.  Take him to the nearest vet, preferably one you already know and have already taken him to.  Do a Google search for your area if you don't know of any veterinarians or animal hospitals.  Sudden changes in behavior like this are very serious in ferrets. If he did swallow your soft foam earbud cover, this can get stuck in his intestines, and if that happens he will require surgery or he will die. It's that simple.

None of this can be determined, however, without an exam by a ferret-competent veterinarian RIGHT AWAY.

Good luck,
DG
