bad dreams

Question
  My ferret makes whinning noises almost every night when he is asleep. I want to wake him up and say it is ok, should I?

Answer
Just like people, ferrets dream.  Some are more vocal than others and it can be accompanied by leg and facial twitching.  This is nothing to be concerned with, as it is fairly common.  He is likely in a very deep level of slumber.  It is probably best to just let him sleep it off when this happens, or just pet him genitally so he knows you are there even if he is sound asleep.
