Question
well..i just got a baby ferret less than a month ago,he is i think 3-4 months old and after i gave him a bath i noticed quite a few of fleas on him..and i have a little dog that likes playing with him (doesnt hurt him) and ive been trying to controll that so both have fleas and what would be the cheapest rout to controll the fleas?

Answer
Hi Kiesha,

That ferret needs to be taken to the vet! Fleas are a BIG problem with ferrets. Ferrets are such small animals that anemia can be a SERIOUS illness for the ferret and it will take the life of that poor little guy. PLEASE take your ferret to the vet and speak to them about the proper course of action. Chances are, your dog has fleas as well, which means you are going to need to treat the dog for fleas too.

Chances are the fleas have gotten in the house. You are going to needs to check around. You should also talk to the vet about flea control in the home and the best way to control that.

The bottom line is you NEED to take those animals to the vet and have a flea medication prescribed! This will become a SERIOUS problem for your ferret if it isn't taken care of IMMEDIATELY!

I hope that answers your question, and if you have any others, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Emilee Andrews
