Dog Peeing and biting

Question
Hi! I have a mini yorkie. She is about 7-8 weeks old. I have only had her for 3 days thus far. She hasn't had any training at all.

I have a pee pad for her in the kitchen, but she rarely goes potty on it. She has gone on it twice. She goes everywhere but there. If I take her outside, she pees but then when we come inside she poops. She has yet to poop outside. Why is this? What can I do to get her to go on the pee pad? When she goes elsewhere i take her to it and tell her NO or BAD. Is this ok or should I be doing something else?

Also, today she pooped in the living room then picked it up and walked with it. Why do you think this is? Is this normal?

Also, I think since she's so young she might be teething b/c she LOVES to bite fingers and toes. Those are her favorite, but she likes to chew/bite on just about anything available to her. What can I do to get her to stop biting US? I bought her some teething toys, and I try to give those to her when she does it, but the toy doesn't last very long with her. She doesn't play with it for a long time. I also tell her NO BITE when she does it. Do you have any other suggestions for me?

At night and when I leave, I put her in a crate. She whines for like 5-10 minutes. Should I tell her NO or just leave her and walk away. I have been covering the side that faces out so she can't see us when I put her in there. Is this normal and Ok to do?

Also, I am trying to feed her on a schedule. I feed her 3 times a day when I eat. She has been waking up at like 6:15am. She goes potty when I take her out at that time. Should I get up then, let her potty then put her back until I'm ready to get up or do I need to get up and be with her for the day at that time? I have tried to do both, but when I put her back she whines again.

Thank you very much! Sorry so many questions, but I am a new mommy to this. :) I'm trying to do the best job possible.

Answer
Hi Tori,
Congratulations on your new puppy. I have worked with tons of Yorkies in Chicago and they are wonderful puppies.

I have lots of housetraining answers already published at AllExperts if you would like to read those, but I would recommend that you visit my website and consider buying the housetraining video as well as some of the others. I am very proud of the fact that they are very high-quality, informative  and very reasonably priced. It is instantly viewable, and you can watch from any computer with a high-speed connection.

The housetraining video will answer all your questions and comes with detailed notes as well as a housetraining chart that I created to make this a lot easier.

As far as biting, you need  to teach your puppy that biting is not appropriate. Try this: put the end of the leash gently over  a doorknob or attach it to to a table leg. Pet her, and if she nips, say,  "Ouch!" and walk away for 5 seconds. Come back, pet her and give her a treat for not biting you. If  she  bites  you, repeat the "Ouch!" and walk away. The main lesson is that she can interact with you if she behaves appropriately.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!
Jeff
