Question
Hi I have a five year old min pin and about a year ago she had a litter of
puppies. We got rid of all of them and sice then she has been trouble.
When we leave we put her in her kinnel and she figured out she can move
her cage and chewed my couch and three of my pillows. Also she pottys
in her kinnel. We tried to let her rome the house when we are gone but
she gets into everything. She got the cat food off the table or she get into
the trash. She also whines constantly or barking at every little noise. I
was wondering if u could give me some advise on how to punisher her
when she is bad and how to try and correct her on the things she does
wrong.

Answer
this makes me sad. I hope you have at least spayed the poor thing.
You can't really punish a dog for doing things when you aren't around, all you can do is control the environment so that she doesn't have the opportunity to misbehave and give her something positive to do instead. If she is whining for attention, ignore her until she is being good and then give her attention. If she is barking too much, teach her to stop barking on command by saying a command the second she stops barking and giving her a treat- many many times.
If she goes potty in her kennel it's too big or you are leaving her in there too long. Even if she isn't properly housebroken, which she certainly should be at her age, she shouldn't be going in the kennel. Take her to vet to make sure she doesn't have some physical problem causing her behavior issues. You'd be surprised at how often that is the case.
