Is it possible to train our large lab to stop attacking our beagle?  he only does it once in a while but I'm afraid he might really hurt rupert and even kill him..  We don't want to give him up but if there is no way to stop this we don't have a choice.  Please help!

There may be. But it's the sort of thing that really needs in-person professional help. It's impossible to get enough details over the internet (where I can't observe the dogs' interactions) to formulate a plan that wouldn't possibly be the wrong plan, and disasterous to the small dog.
