8-9 week old Yorkie Yelping

We have an 8-9 week old yorkie. Every time we crate him at bedtime or when we leave the house he yelps at the top of his little lungs. Even after we take him out he continues to yelp for a few minutes. We cannot get him to stop and it is so loud it makes it very hard to sleep at night. Since he is not yet potty trained keeping him out at night is out of the question. We have another dog that from the time we first put him in his crate he never yelped. We would really love to have some ideas that would help our situation. We are getting very stressed out over the lack of sleep and the fact that when we pull up in the driveway we can hear him from outside the house. Please, please help us.

How old was the puppy when you got him?
Where did you buy him from (Breeder, Petstore, etc)
In what room is he crated at night?
What type of crate?
How LARGE is the crate?
What have you tried to make him stop?
When is his last feeding of the day?
What brand/type of dog food are you feeding?
Do you let him go potty at night, and if yes, how do you handle it?
