OUr 11 mnth just completed basic training and did very well. she lisen very well. so we figured it will be ok to get another dog now that our older dog is trained. lately she hasnt lisen to any comand or if she dose its for such a limited time. Could she be doing this because of the little one? she was so good now i'm disaplining her on a daily basis. I hate being mad but she dosent lisen. what can i do to correct this?

Answer
Was your training class a "treat" based training method?  What is occurring is that the dog was taught but never conditioned to respond to you obedience command.  This is a very common occurrence with group lesson training programs that fail to ever teach you, the owner, about transition and environmental dependencies.  If your dog was trained by the use of treats or food and you did not go through a complex process of transition from teaching the dog to perform for you not the treat then this could be the root of your problem. Also a lot will have to do with her age.  As she matures through the first couple years it is important to understand how to turn any discipline session into a learning experience by following the three simple steps of my One, Two, Good Dog!  protocol.  I would suggest that you purchase my booklet and learn how to integrate and transition what you are teaching your dog.  Training involves 2 distinct steps.  One is the teaching process.  This is where you teach the dog what you want it to do.  This process is quick, short, and simple.  Most basic obedience behaviors will take less than 5 minutes to teach.  Step two is conditioning.  This occurs by getting enough consistent, meaningful repetitions of the taught behavior.  This will take between 200 and 600 reps.  Through integration this occurs in your daily interaction with the dog and does not require a specific time set aside for training.  When done properly you will easily get 20 reps a day involving less than a total of 2 minutes.
Without conditioning a dog with use of the taught behavioral commands your dog's learned obedience behaviors will extinguish over just a short period of time and you will have results like what you are experiencing.
As far as the other dog affecting the older dog this could be playing a roll in it as any changes in a dogs environment can and usually does effect its behavior.
