New Puppy and other dog

Question
I have an 11 month old lab/shepherd mix who was extremely easy to house train.  About one month ago, we rescued another puppy at 8 weeks old (Pekingese and Queensland heeler mix) which we are house training pretty successfully.  Our concern is with the lab/shepherd. He is starting to poop in the house when he used to nudge us with his nose.  Now he doesn't even let us know that he needs to go. He waits until we are not looking and will go into another room to poop.  We are at a loss as to what to do. Please give us some advise. We checked your website, but nothing seemed to hit this on the nose. Thanks for your advise.

Answer
Lisa, are you >>sure<< you read the house training page? If you did, then you would know that you need to keep your older puppy in your sight at all times, taking him out when you see that he is showing signs of needing to go, just like when you were housebreaking him.

It could be that he is doing this as a way to get attention, and/or a way of marking his territory, because of the new arrival (how in the world did a Peke breed with an Australian cattle dog, anyway?!!). It's very important when you introduce a new dog to the family, to spend just as much quality time with the 'old' dog as you did before bringing the new one into the picture.
