Question
Hello, Do you know the best way to clean up my 6 month old pup's knots in his fur? He is a Maltese mixed with Toy Poodle, and the straight hair has 3 little knots in them. Surprisinly, the curly part of hair he has on his back is not knotted at  all. Please let m eknow how I can take these out the easiet way! THANK YOU!

Answer
If you plan to have him groomed (trimmed), the easiest way is to just cut them off. Otherwise, you need to work in some sort of conditioner and start brushing, and the brushing should be done on a regular basis (every day) to keep the knots from forming. Some good conditioners are #1 All Systems Botanical Conditioner, The Stuff (very popular with long-haired breeds), and Mane N Tail Conditioner (a horse product), or anything containing silicones. The best brush is a large Universal Slicker Brush.
