grooming a Bouvier

I am from Nebraska and have been professionally grooming for almost 20 years and have never groomed a bouvier.  The pet owner complains of taking it to several dog groomers and having it coming out looking like a "big version of a schnauzer" which is what I thought they were.  What I was wondering is if they are even suppose to have a pattern to them or not.  I usually take 5 or a 7  to the backs of my schnauzers but from what I can find out the bouvier is suppose to be about 2 inches all over.  Is this what you have done in the past?  We just don't have this breed around here so I would like to have it done right for the guy.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Judy

Honestly Judy,I have never done a Bouvier.  I have had Giant Schnauzers, but I would have to dig for some grooming info myself if a Bov walked thru the door.  Have you checked with the Bouvier Club of America?  Or maybe find a breeder.  I am hitting a couple dog shows in the next few months and I will now make sure I seek a Bov out to take a look.  I'm pretty sure if I groomed one today, it would look much like a Giant.  Hope you find what you need.  Wendy
