Are collars better or harnesses?

And how often should a pet poodle have it's hair trimmed? Before it gets all matty

Answer
Most "groomed" dogs should be done every 6-8 weeks. Any hair growth longer than eight weeks is going to be harder to keep brushed and will mat easier.

On any dogs with longer hair, I prefer a rolled leather collar as it mats the hair up less than a flat collar. I am not fond of harnesses as they encourage some dogs to pull more, but there are newer versions now that are much more pet and owner-friendly.
