Dogs Swollen Abdomen

Question
Hello. I have already brought my dog to the vet but they wouldn't help me because I am low on funds. I am planning on bringing him to a vet this week but I would like to try to find out what it could be so I can have an idea of what it could be so there won't be a surprise. An American Hairless Terrier, my dog's abdomen started to swell just a little bit and kept swelling just a bit over the course of two weeks then we felt alarmed because we noticed that the testicles finally grew bigger too so we took him to a vet, and they suspected that he may have Testicular Tumor. They wouldn't help me because I did not have the money to continue testing/investigation to see if he really has Testicular Tumor. So, I have been trying to do research on the Testicular Tumor but oddly enough, my dog still has an amazing appetite and still does his outdoor business. His personality hasn't changed. There are times when he sleeps a lot but he still remains active. Then over the last few days we noticed that the swelling has reduced significantly, and he actually feels lighter when we pick him up. He still has some swollen abdomen and testicles but the swelling has reduced. Is there any other possibility of what this could be other than Testicular Tumor? I have been doing researches like crazy and haven't been able to find anything that would match his condition. Please keep in mind that I WILL be taking him to another vet sometime this week when I get my pay but I would like to know what you think.. Thank you very much.

Answer
I *have* had a dog with testicular cancer, and one of his testicles was slightly enlarged and harder. His abdomen was not swollen. His behavior and eating were normal and I made the discovery when I was grooming him.

I am wondering if this could have been an allergic reaction to something; could he have gotten into anything? Biting ants?.... or did he eat something he shouldn't have? Occasionally over the years my dogs have broken into the dog food stash and have eaten to the point that they are totally bloated. It takes them a few days to digest all that food.

I cannot think of anything else it could be. The fact that it is gradually improving makes me think he got into something.
