Fostering unsocialized 8 month old puppy

Question
Once I gently "catch her", she seems to love to cuddle and sleep with me.  However, she is yet to "come" to me on her own and takes off walking when I try to approach her.  I'm confused as to why she is this way.  So extreme for both things.  I know there is a door which she wants to unlock but just can't seem to do so. Can you offer suggestions?  Thank you!

This likely has to do with poor early care.  Such problems take time to solve and may never be completely resolved.  I would mostly give her time.  Let her approach you at her own pace.  When you smile at her, keep you lips closed to hide your teeth.  Showing them is unfriendly, and so is looking her in the eye.  Keep you hand away from the top of her head.  Keep up a happy patter to her.
