Question
Okay so i just brought home a EXTREMELY under weight puppy shes maybe about 2 months old she is nothing but bones. she had belonged to a woman that could not afford to feed her. at first i was feeding her small helpings of dry puppy food but she seemed to be having trouble with her bowel movements. she is having much trouble going. so i got canned puppy food today for her. so my question is how much and how many times should i feed her through the day?

Answer
Brandi-

Thank you for rescuing. I would offer her some canned pumpkin and a LOT of water to help with the constipation.

Try feeding her normal amounts of high quality dry food every 2-3 hours. You can also make satin balls to help her gain weight fast.

5 lbs cheap hamburger (for high fat %)
1/2 large box Total cereal (about 6 cups cereal)
1/2 large box uncooked oatmeal (about 7.5 cups oats)
5 raw eggs
1/2 of 15oz jar wheat germ (about 2 cups)
5 packages Knox unflavored gelatin
5/8 cup vegetable oil (this is pretty close to 2/3 cup)
5/8 cup unsulphered molasses
pinch of salt

makes about 20 patties. She should get 1/2 a patty with each meal.
