grooming for older dogs

Hi, I have a 15 yr old shih tzu who is in relatively great shape. However, the vet said his muscles are getting weaker. And I do notice that his legs do splay outwards at times.  I would like to find out if there are groomers who specialize in grooming older dogs (realizing that they cannot stand for periods as long as a younger dog might). I want to find someone who is sensitive to an older dogs' issues.  Thank you in advance.

Hello Karen, I am surprised you do not already have a relationship with your past or present groomer.  She or he should know your dog inside and out after all these years.  Usually I build a relationship with a dog that continues throughout their life and having said that, when they get old and require in and out service I am there for them,  If you do not have one of those groomers, then I would call your local groomers and see who sounds most comfortable with working on older dogs with special needs and can provide you with in and out service.  Maybe even your vet can refer you to someone.  In our area there are mobile groomers, They give your pet one on one attention with no other shop distractions.  I hope this helps.  Thanks, Cindy Lou :)
